Sunday Skills, Stumpers, and Silliness (#10) 🦇
We’ve been living in football mode all week… but today we’re making a quick stop at the baseball field.
Because it’s Sunday. And whether you’re swinging a bat or solving a stumper, it’s time to play ball.
🧠 Skills: Swing Like a Banana Baller 🍌
We’ve thrown a football spiral.
We’ve aimed a baseball.
We’ve drained a basketball jumper.
Today? We’re picking up the bat and practicing our swing!
Robert Anthony Cruz is a big hitter, a fun performer, and a proud member of the Savannah Bananas.
🎥 Hit play to see him break it down.
Now, hitting like a Banana might mean dancing between pitches and wearing a glow-in-the-dark jersey…
But underneath all that fun? There’s real skill. And a lot of hard work!
❓ Stumpers: Both Sports Use Helmets
Football yesterday. Baseball today.
Here’s a question that connects both sports.
🤔 Need a hint? The right answer has all the letters in the word ‘noise.’ Can you spot them? That’s something fans made a LOT of whenever he was on the field. 👂🎉
Alright, you earned it… here’s Deion in action. With all these incredible plays, you’ll see why his nickname is “Prime Time.”
🎥 Because when the lights are brightest, he shines the most.
🏅 Want bonus points?
In the 1990s and early 2000s, Deion Sanders wasn’t just fast… he was one of the best athletes in the world.
Highlights on Sundays. Home runs every other day. If it had a field, Deion probably dominated it.
But what about now?
🕵 Need a hint? He goes by Coach Prime now… and is known for his style on the sidelines.
😂 Silliness: Banana Ball Invades Fenway 🎩
With what we covered today… how could we end with anything but Banana Ball?
A few weeks ago, the Savannah Bananas took their baseball circus to Fenway Park, the legendary home of the Boston Red Sox.
Historic stadium? ✅
Packed crowd? ✅
Banana Ball chaos? Oh, you bet. 🍌
Deion Sanders? ❌ (But Banana Ball is exactly the kind of sport he’d dominate.)
🎥 See for yourself.
⏳ Before We Go
We’ve spent today talking swing tips, Deion highlight reels, and Banana Ball in Boston.
But Saturday also reminded us: sometimes, sports get serious.
A few stars across the sports world got injured this weekend. Here’s what you need to know.
1️⃣⚾ Aaron Judge, the Yankees’ captain and slugging superstar, was pulled from the lineup with an elbow injury.
The good news? No major damage.
The plan? Rest it, heal up, and hopefully return as a designated hitter while it recovers.
🧠 Hold up, what’s that?
With the designated hitter, or ‘DH’ rule, a different player gets to bat instead of the pitcher.
That way, pitchers can focus on throwing, and strong hitters can still help the team even if they’re not playing defense.
2️⃣🏀 Breanna Stewart, one of the best players in the WNBA, left the Liberty’s game yesterday after just three minutes with a lower-leg injury.
New York ended up losing that game 101–99, ending a five-game win streak.
No official update yet, but fans are crossing their fingers she recovers quickly.
3️⃣🏈 Matthew Stafford, the Rams’ Super Bowl–winning QB, has back soreness and will miss another week of preseason practice.
No panic yet… just patience. And maybe a few extra Gatorades.
Smallballers, you crushed it today! From silly swings to serious stuff, we saw it all.
Now catch your breath. Because tomorrow, our NFL preview rolls on. 🏈
Smallball is just for fun.
