The Wait Is Over ⏰
Today, we’ve got baseball and football to cover… plus a quick preview of tonight’s NBA tip-off!
Ready for Smallball?
Let’s start with the…
MLB Playoffs ⚾️
The World Series is set!
We know the Dodgers are in. But are they playing the Blue Jays or Mariners?
Well, down 3–2 in the series a few nights ago, the Blue Jays cruised to a 6–2 win to send the ALCS to Game 7.
And last night’s winner-take-all game?
🎥 Hit play and see for yourself!
What. A. Clutch. Bomb. That was Blue Jays outfielder George Springer.
You heard the announcers! It’s the first time Toronto’s in the World Series since 1993.
Poor Mariners! They’re still the only MLB team to never make the World Series. Fans have been waiting since the team started playing in 1977.
Thankfully, we don’t have to wait anywhere near that long. Game 1 is Friday!
Let’s pass the time with some…
NFL Week 7 👔🏈
Best game: We had a lot of blowouts this week! Of 15 games on the schedule, only 5 were decided by a touchdown or less.
And the best of those close games?
Definitely Giants vs. Broncos.
🎥 Click here to see football feel like a roller coaster!

That comeback? Historic.
Before the Broncos won, the last 1,602 NFL teams to trail by 18+ points in the final 6 minutes of a game… had lost every single time.
Leading the comeback? Broncos QB Bo Nix.
He became the first player in NFL history to pass for two touchdowns and run for two in a single quarter.
How cool is that?
Biggest news: Last week, the Indianapolis Colts and Tampa Bay Buccaneers were tied for best record in the NFL.
The Colts crushed the Chargers, 38–24. But the Bucs lost to the Lions on Monday Night Football, 24–9.
So now the Colts are all alone at the top with a 6–1 record.
At the bottom? The Jets… still.
They lost to the Panthers and are now 0–7.
Wildest play: Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs beat the Raiders, 31–0.
A shutout in the NFL is always impressive.
But even more amazing?
🎥 Check out Mahomes the magician!
Let’s stick with football magic and check on…
College Football Week 8 🎓🏈
Best game: Not #21 Texas sneaking past Kentucky in overtime, 16–13.
Not #15 BYU beating in-state rival #23 Utah, 24–21. (Do you remember who you picked?)
Not even #4 Texas A&M beating Arkansas, 45–42, so they could move up to #3.
No, it has to be #5 Ole Miss at #9 Georgia.
🎥 See who won this top-10 showdown!
Biggest news: How far up did Georgia move in the new rankings?
Find them below. And then let’s play spot the difference!
👀 How many teams didn’t move at all?
🕵️ Did you and your grown-up get the same answer?
🏅 Want extra credit? Indiana has its highest ranking in school history at #2. Vanderbilt is in the top 10 for the first time since 1947.
What’s higher: the sum of their rankings this week or the sum of letters in both of their names?
💬 Drop your answer in the comments!
Wildest play: Did you notice that USC dropped out of the rankings? It’s because they lost to Notre Dame.
One reason why the Trojans lost?
🎥 Watch this play turn into a disaster!
Yep, that trick play didn’t trick anybody.
Enough football! Remember today (Tuesday) is…
NBA Tip-Off 🏀
It’s basketball season!
Two games on the schedule tonight.
First, the Houston Rockets and their new star Kevin Durant take on the defending champs, OKC.
Then, Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors play Luka Dončić and the Lakers, who won’t have LeBron as he recovers from an injury.
(Yes, Jake, we are going to talk about the Warriors a lot!)
The other big games before our next post on Friday?
Cavaliers at Knicks (Wednesday; showdown between two of the best teams in the East)
Spurs at Mavericks (Wednesday; Cooper Flagg’s debut against Victor Wembanyama)
Nuggets at Warriors (Thursday; two of the best players in the world square off: Steph vs. Jokić)
Prediction time!
Oh, and Sam… you asked about the worst team!
Most experts think it’s either the Brooklyn Nets, Utah Jazz, or Washington Wizards.
Each of those teams is expected to win 20 to 25 games out of 82 this season.
OKC, who most experts think are the favorites to repeat as champions? They’re expected to win 60 to 65 games.
But now the games begin.
And we go from guessing what might happen to watching what does!
