āBaseball and the Fourth of July go hand in glove. Hot dogs. Fireworks. And, sometimes⦠history.ā
Thatās what we said yesterday. And itās true.
But at Smallball, we love a challenge.
So today weāre asking: Whatās even more American than baseball on the Fourth of July?
Weāve got three contenders stepping up to the plate⦠fireworks, hot dogs, and a whole lot of joyful chaos.
Let the Red, White, and Blue Games begin. ā¬ļø
1ļøā£ Fireworks + Fastballs š
On July 4, Major League Baseball doesnāt just bring the game⦠it brings the boom.
All across the country, home teams light up the skies after the final pitch.
And one of the very best shows? Thatās in Denver, where the Colorado Rockies turn Coors Field into a giant party.
After the game ends, fans stick around, the lights go out, and thenā¦
š„ Just watch what happens next!
Fireworks in the sky? ā
Now letās talk about fireworks⦠in your stomach.
2ļøā£ Hot Dog Man š
Is eating as many hot dogs as possible a sport? Maybe.
A spectacle? Yes.
A stomachache? Definitely.
The Nathanās Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest has been a July 4 tradition for over a century⦠starting with a (possibly made-up) contest in 1916 to prove who loved America the most.
But today, itās known for one thing: Joey Chestnut.
Heās won the contest and its prize (the mustard belt!) 16 times. He once ate 76 hot dogs in 10 minutes. Heās not just the champ⦠heās the whole show.
After missing last yearās contest, Joey was back in 2025.
Would he reclaim his crown? Or would a new challenger rise?
š„ Letās roll the tape from this yearās showdown.
Weāve had fireworks. ā
Weāve had hot dogs. ā
Now itās time for some actual baseball.
Well⦠kinda.
3ļøā£ Life, Liberty, and Trick Plays š
The Savannah Bananas brought their world-famous Banana Ball show to Washington, DC last weekend⦠and turned Americaās capital into a sports circus.
There were trick plays.
There were backflipping umps.
There were more laughs per inning than any ballpark in America.
And sure, George Washington never saw a conga line on a baseball diamond⦠but we think he wouldāve loved it.
š„ Hereās how it went down!
š„ And the Gold Medal Goes Toā¦?
We started with a challenge: whatās even more American than baseball on the Fourth of July?
Now itās your turn to decide.
Cast your vote, crown a champ, and letās keep the fun rolling all summer long.
See you tomorrow, Smallballers! š§ š®š
