Schedules, Swishes & Sweet Swings 🏀🎮⚾
Whoa… after all those NFL previews, you might think it’s break time.
Not so fast! There’s still plenty of action to keep you on your toes.
Here are three things you need to know today!
1️⃣ The NBA Schedule Is Here 🏀
Opening night isn’t until October… but the schedule came out yesterday!
The season starts with a great pair of games:
The Oklahoma City Thunder get their championship rings and host the Houston Rockets.
Then it’s Steph Curry and the Warriors against LeBron, Luka, and the Lakers.
The fun doesn’t stop there.
On the second day, rookie Cooper Flagg’s Mavericks host Victor Wembanyama’s Spurs in what could be the first chapter of a new Texas rivalry.
Say it with us: wem-bahn-YAH-mah. 🔎
Day three highlight: Denver starts the season against the Warriors.
And here’s a twist to watch for: the NBA Cup is the league’s regular season tournament, kind of like the WNBA’s Commissioner’s Cup.
🎥 Watch how it works!
2️⃣ From Saquon to SGA 🎮
Yesterday, we had fun talking about Madden NFL 26 and whether Saquon Barkley can stomp the Madden Curse.
But that’s not the only sports video game in town. In a few weeks, just before the new NBA season tips off, NBA 2K26 comes out.
The cover athlete? OKC’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Fresh off an MVP season.
When it comes to shooting, the player ratings bring zero surprises.
From deep, it’s still Steph Curry leading the league with a 99 rating.
From two-point range, Nikola Jokić rules the floor with a smooth 98. Buckets!
🎥 Want a sneak peek?
Now we’re swapping basketball for baseball… but maybe not the kind you expect.
3️⃣ Big Dreams in Little League ⚾
The Little League World Series started this week in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
It brings together the best teams of 10- to 12-year-olds from around the world in a double-elimination tournament.
That means lose twice and you’re out!
Think of it like a giant, two-lane race:
20 teams start: 10 from the US, 10 from other countries.
If you win, you keep racing in the fast lane.
If you lose early, you slide into the slow lane for another shot.
Eventually, only two teams will be left in each lane: one from the US and one from the rest of the world.
They play for their own trophies…
And then the US and international champions meet in the final to decide the best Little League team on Earth.
If you’re curious what it looks like…
🎥 See last year’s wild final play!
Yep, last year’s championship was won on a perfectly placed bunt.
Now, you tell us!
Big plays, big dreams, big fun. See you back here tomorrow, Smallballers!
