📚 The Story of Steph
Before he became the NBA’s all-time 3-point king, Stephen Curry grew up shooting in gyms after Charlotte Hornets’ practices. Why? His dad was NBA player Dell Curry!
Here’s Steph - the kid on the left - and his younger brother Seth watching their dad at the NBA All Star Game in 1994. Did you know Seth is also an NBA player?
When Steph finished high school, the big colleges like Duke and North Carolina thought he was too small. So he chose tiny Davidson College, where he led a magical March Madness run all the way to the Elite Eight.
Even then, professional scouts weren’t sure. Could he survive the rough, physical world of the NBA?
But the Golden State Warriors believed. They drafted him with the 7th pick in the 2009 NBA Draft.
And Steph? He didn’t just survive. He changed the game forever. His lightning-quick cuts. His fearless, deep 3s. His joyful, unselfish play.
Today, Steph is 37 years old. Still mesmerizing crowds, still chasing greatness, and still reminding every kid that heart matters more than height.
