The Chargers had the coolest video of the summer: an epic Minecraft version of their 2025 schedule.
But more importantly, they turned things around fast last season thanks to their new head coach, Jim Harbaugh, who came after winning a college National Championship at Michigan.
Now in Year 2, Harbaugh’s team is tougher and faster. But after a playoff flop last year, they really want to go even further.
Last year: 11–6
Lost to Texans in Round 1
Division: AFC West

⭐ Stars to Know
Want to know who Chargers fans are cheering hardest for? Start with this trio.
Justin Herbert – Quarterback
Herbert is one of the best young quarterbacks in the league. He’s got a rocket arm, cool hair, and serious talent.
Last year, he helped lead the Chargers back to the playoffs, but now he’s aiming for more. Experts say he still holds the ball too long at times, trying to make the perfect play instead of taking a quicker, safer option. That’s led to too many sacks.
Ladd McConkey – Wide Receiver
Ladd is a second-year speedster who became Herbert’s favorite target right away.
He runs sharp routes and moves his feet like a video game character! And he had more yards in his playoff debut last year than any rookie receiver in NFL history.
Derwin James Jr. – Safety
James does it all on defense: big hits, tight coverage, and lightning-quick blitzes.
Last year, he helped lead the Chargers to the fewest points allowed in the NFL. This year, he's aiming for an even more aggressive style and more turnovers.
👀 Stories to Watch
The Chargers are building on last year’s progress… and chasing something bigger. Here’s what we’re watching in 2025.
Built to Run
Harbaugh wants his teams to be tough, physical, and ready to run the ball… no matter who they’re playing. That’s the way his team played at Michigan. And now it’s the Chargers’ style.
In 2025, that mindset is everywhere:
Joe Alt, now in his second year, is leading a rebuilt offensive line.
The tight ends are expected to block as much as they catch.
And the running back group is deeper and more flexible than before.
The goal? Win at the line, keep defenses guessing, and take pressure off Herbert by winning on the ground. If it works, the Chargers will be dangerous.

🎥 And since you’re already watching… don’t miss Alt describing what it takes to fuel a 6’9” lineman.

Playoff Payback
The Chargers made it back to the playoffs last year… but it didn’t go well. They lost 32–12 to the Texans, and Herbert threw four interceptions. Ouch.
This year, it’s all about proving they can finish strong. The defense was great in 2024. Now it’s the offense’s turn to rise in the big moments and flip the playoff script.
Chasing Mahomes
The Chargers haven’t won the AFC West in over 15 years. And with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs still ruling the division, every game against Kansas City is a test.
If the Chargers want to win the division this year, they’ll need to bring their best when they play Kansas City.
🎁 Did You Know?
The Chargers play at SoFi Stadium… but it doesn’t always feel like home.
Why? For one thing, they share it with the Rams.
But here’s the bigger reason: the Chargers moved from San Diego to Los Angeles in 2017, so they’re still trying to get more fans. And when popular teams come to town, their fans often fill the seats instead.
The Chargers are hoping that winning more games will turn SoFi into a real home-field advantage. Louder, prouder, and truly theirs.
🎥 Basically they need more fans acting like this kid.
Experts think the Chargers will finish with 10 wins. That’s a small step back from last year, and the same record as the Rams.
But there’s only room for one top team in LA.
Stick around… because tomorrow we’re finally leaving LA. And we’re heading somewhere a little colder and a lot cheesier. 🧀👀
