Playoff Picks and Mind Tricks 🎩
Yesterday, the WNBA playoff story was all about Game 2s on the right side of the bracket.
Today the question shifts: what about the left side?
Make your prediction… then let’s see what happened!
First up on the schedule? Liberty vs. Mercury.
And Phoenix came to play. Satou Sabally shook off her rough Game 1 (when she went just 2-for-17 shooting!) and came back strong with 15 points.
Teammate Alyssa Thomas also scored 15.
New York got a big lift when Breanna Stewart played after hurting her knee in Game 1. But she wasn’t herself… finishing with just 6 points.
Phoenix played tough defense. The Liberty scored 25 in the first quarter, then only 35 the rest of the game.
Final score: Phoenix 86, New York 60.
Series tied 1–1. Game 3 decides it on Friday night in Phoenix. Winner moves on.
Next up? Lynx vs. Valkyries.
After losing 101–72 in Game 1, Golden State led this one 63–49 after three quarters.

Surprise! Lynx 75, Valkyries 74.
No surprise: Napheesa Collier led the Lynx with 24 points.
With the Valkyries season over, Golden State fans are ready for the Warriors and Steph Curry. And Steph looks like he’s ready for the NBA season, too!
So, congratulations if you predicted the Lynx 🐺. They’re heading to Round 2.
That means three Game 3s tonight and tomorrow to decide who else advances!
What else is on tonight?
NFL Week 3 kicks off with Thursday Night Football. And it’s an AFC East Division game between the 2–0 Buffalo Bills 🦬 and 0–2 Miami Dolphins.
Experts give the Bills and star quarterback Josh Allen a 76% chance to win at home.
What makes Allen so special?
🎥 Hit play to see what other NFL players have to say!
Pretty convincing, right?
🎥 Sure, Allen can read defenses… but can this guy read his mind?
🪄 We can’t predict the future like that… but we’re pretty sure tomorrow’s Smallball will be packed with more highlights!
See you then!
Smallball is just for fun.
