Today we’re celebrating baseball’s best with three All-Star stories: one legend, one big moment, and one highlight reel packed with wow!
1️⃣ One More Star for a Legend ⭐
Just last week, Clayton Kershaw became the 20th pitcher ever to reach 3,000 strikeouts. This week? He’s adding one more honor to the list: his 11th All-Star Game.
But this time, he didn’t make it the usual way.
Normally, to make the All-Star team, a player needs great stats and good health. When Kershaw has pitched this season, he’s been great. He has four wins and no losses. But injuries kept him from pitching for the first few weeks of the season.
So how’d he make it?
There’s a special rule that lets the MLB commissioner (that’s like the boss of the whole league) add a player or two in special cases. And with 3,000 strikeouts… Clayton definitely earned it.
The 2025 MLB All-Star Game is a week from today in Arlington, Texas. And Kershaw will be there, alongside stars like his Dodgers teammates Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman.
🎤 If you were the MLB commissioner for a day, which star player from another sport would you pick to play in baseball’s All-Star Game?
Would Steph Curry crush home runs like he drains threes? Would Patrick Mahomes fire fastballs so tricky even the catcher misses them? 🧢🔥

2️⃣ Next Stop: 3,000 Hits? ⚾️
San Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado is joining Kershaw in this year’s All-Star Game. And just like Kershaw’s chasing strikeouts, Manny’s on a mission of his own.
🎥 Last night, he got his 2,000th career hit… a huge moment in what’s already been an impressive career.
Only 33 players in MLB history have ever reached 3,000 hits. The all-time leader? Pete Rose, with 4,256!
Now 32 years old, Manny has a real shot to join that exclusive club… but here’s the twist: it’s getting harder and harder to do it.
Pitchers are throwing faster and smarter. Batting averages are dropping. And more players swing big instead of stacking up singles. In fact, only five active players even have 2,000 hits right now.
But Manny’s been a hitting machine since he was 20 years old. And he stays healthy.
So we’ll be watching to see if he can make history over the next few years. ⚾️💪
