A Miracle, An MVP, and... Mahomes?š¤
Yesterday, it was myths; today, itās a miraculous ending, an MVP thatās finally official, and maybe even⦠Patrick Mahomes?
Weāve got rising stars, second chances, and a whole new sport headed to the Olympics.
Here are 3 things you need to know! š
1ļøā£ Knicks vs. Pacers: Gotta See It To Believe It š±
With 2:43 left, the Knicks led 119ā105. Game over? Not quite.
What happened next was part hustle, part heart, and part how on earth did that go in?!
š„ Watch the chaos unfoldā¦
So⦠just to recap:
The Pacers staged an extraordinary comeback to defeat the Knicks 138ā135 in overtime at Madison Square Garden.
Aaron Nesmith led the rally, hitting 5 straight 3s in the closing minutes of the 4th quarter.
Tyrese Haliburton nearly won the game at the buzzer, but a replay confirmed his foot was on the three-point line, forcing overtime.
Haliburton finished with 31 points and 11 assists.
Smallball-ers, did you catch it? Haliburtonās āchokeā sign wasnāt just a flex⦠it was a flashback.
In 1994, Pacers legend Reggie Miller gave that exact gesture to Knicks fans at Madison Square Garden⦠and last night? He was announcing the game on TV.

We got one jaw-dropping finish⦠now letās hope for another. Over to the Western Conference Finals!
2ļøā£ Can the Wolves Howl Back? Game 2 Tonight šŗā”
Game 1 was a second-half Thunder storm. Minnesota struggled offensively, turning the ball over 19 times for 31 OKC points. Too much to overcome.
Anthony Edwards, who finished with just 18 points, acknowledged the Thunder's defensive strategy: āThey clogged the paint... every time I go to the rim it's like four people in the paint.ā
Game 2 is a test of resilience. Can the Wolves adjust their offense and tighten up their defense? Or will the Thunder's momentum carry them to a commanding series lead?
š„ Oh, and this happened! Smallball-ers knew it was comingā¦
šÆ Experts say⦠72% chance Thunder (and the newly-named MVP) win again
3ļøā£ From Backyards to the Olympics: Flag Football Goes Big š
Flag football began as a creative twist on tackle football. A safer, speedier version where defenders grab flags instead of making hits.
It was born on military bases in the 1940s as a way for service members to stay sharp and have fun without injury. Then it spread: parks, schools, rec leagues⦠and now? The Olympic Games.
This week, the NFL gave its official green light: players can represent their countries in flag football at the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. That means some of the biggest stars in football could wear red, white, and blue in front of the world.
Please, please, please, give us Patrick Mahomes at QB! š¤
And hereās the thing: weāve got a sneak peek. The Pro Bowl is the NFLās all-star game. In 2023, the Pro Bowl became a full-on flag football showcase.
Fans got a glimpse of what makes this version shine⦠the jukes, the deep throws, the joy.
š„ See for yourselfā¦
And hey⦠the Olympics are still 3 years away, so maybe these kids will be ready by then. (Worth a click and watch!)
Basketballās heating up. Flag footballās gearing up. And one thingās for sureā¦
Thereās always more to learn, love, and laugh about in sports. See you tomorrow, Smallball-ers!
